I recieved a mini-grant for a projector and to have it mounted to the ceiling in my classroom. With a generation of visual learners it has helped my highschool students greatly. When we talk about things relating to Ancient History, they have no framework, but now that I am able to show them pictures and diagrams of ancient cities and architecture it allow for them to retain the information more effectively. Thanks! |

Wow, this was a wonderful and generous donation that truly benfited the whole third grade. We purchased our classroom Jeopardy and the students were so excited!!! Our children are all very different types of learners and Classroom Jeopardy was a fabulous way for the children that are kinesthetic (and most of them are)learners to learn and retain the curriculum! It was such a huge motivator for the students; I actually think they retained more from playing the Classroom Jeopardy than from anything else. Thank you very very much. You made a huge difference in the learning of these children. |

There are many ways to make math interesting and enjoyable for second graders. The grant which I received from the 100% for Kids Foundation helped in many of those ways. With the grant I purchased a class set of calculators. They motived the children to finish their daily math assignments because they were then allowed to "check it with the calculator". But if the answers did not agree they were required to show the way the correct one was reached. This required them to find their own mistake and correct it. Two step story problems are difficult for 8 year olds, but in being allowed to use the calculator they were more motivated and I often heard comments such as, "This is fun!" or "This isn't hard at all!" One day when they were using the calculators for repeated addition and the recess bell rang a few of them groaned and asked if they could stay in and finish! I doubt that would have happened without the gift of the grant from the foundation. I support them whole heartedly and will always be indebted to them for their generous support and help in my classroom. |

When I received my grant money at school, I was overwhelmed by the generosity of the Utah Credit Unions. As soon as the funds were available, I purchased the LCD projector that I had been hoping for. With my students, I immediately put it to work, showing curriculum related video clips, Power Point presentations, student created presentations, etc. Thank you so very much 100% for Kids for giving me the opportunity to bring new technology into my classroom. I could not have done it without your help! |
